Ctrl+Shift+1 (Cmd+Shift+1 on Mac) to save all tabs instantly. Ctrl+Shift+2 (Cmd+Shift+2 on Mac) to open the side panel. You can customize these in your browser's extension settings.
Yes! TheTab tracks recently closed tabs for up to 30 days (configurable). Just go to the 'Recently Closed' section to restore any tab you've closed.
TheTab works on Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave and every other Chromium-based browser. On Vivaldi it saves a flat list of your tabs, since Vivaldi's Tab Stacks and Workspaces aren't exposed to any extension. Read the full answer
Your saved tabs stay on your device - we never see your URLs or browsing history. Only anonymous usage analytics (a random ID, never your tabs), which you can turn off. There is no TheTab account and no server of ours. Two backups are on by default and both use your browser rather than us: a bookmarks folder that tracks your saved groups, and a safety net that mirrors your most recent groups to your browser account so they survive a reinstall. If your browser sync is on, your browser vendor moves those the way it moves your bookmarks - still never sent to us, and both switch off in Options. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Yes, if you want: turn on the bookmark mirror (Options › Appearance) and your saved tabs live in a "TheTab" bookmarks folder that your browser's own sync carries to your other devices - no TheTab cloud, no account. You can also export/import your tab lists as JSON files.
